Studienreise nach Belo Horizonte (Brasilien) – Auf den Spuren von Multiplikation

Am Freitag, den 20.06.2025, starte ich gemeinsam mit Alex Schreiber aus unserer Gemeinde eine ganz besondere Reise: Wir fliegen nach Belo Horizonte in Brasilien, zur Igreja Batista Central. Diese Gemeinde ist für viele ein Leuchtturm geworden, wenn es darum geht, wie echte Multiplikation im Reich Gottes aussehen kann.

Was vor Jahrzehnten mit etwa 400 Mitgliedern begann, wurde durch eine tiefgreifende Neuausrichtung zur Zellgruppengemeinde – heute zählen sie über 27.000 Menschen in mehr als 4.000 Zellgruppen. Im Zentrum steht nicht ein Pastor, sondern die Vision: Jeder Christ ist berufen, geistlicher Vater oder geistliche Mutter zu sein und sich in andere zu multiplizieren.

Unsere Reise ist eine Studienreise, bei der wir 10 Tage lang in das Zellgruppenleben der Gemeinde eintauchen, an Konferenzen teilnehmen, Gottesdienste miterleben selbst predigen werden und in persönlichen Gesprächen von Leitern vor Ort lernen dürfen. Besonders gespannt sind wir auf die Multiplication Celebration am 28. Juni – ein großer Festtag, an dem alle neuen Zellgruppen gefeiert werden, die im letzten Jahr entstanden sind.

Study Trip to Belo Horizonte – Discovering the Power of Multiplication

On Friday, June 20, 2025, I will be traveling together with Alex Schreiber from our church to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, for a very special trip: a study visit to Igreja Batista Central. This church has become a beacon for many when it comes to how true multiplication can take place in God’s kingdom.

What began decades ago with around 400 members has, through a radical shift in focus, become a cell-based church – today involving more than 27,000 people in over 4,000 cell groups. At the center is not a single pastor, but a shared vision: Every believer is called to be a spiritual father or mother and to multiply their life into others.

Our trip is a study visit during which we will spend 10 days immersed in the cell group life of the church. We’ll take part in conferences, attend worship services, even have the opportunity to preach, and learn directly from local leaders through personal conversations. One highlight we’re especially looking forward to is the Multiplication Celebration on June 28 – a major event where all newly formed cell groups from the past year are celebrated.

The question that moves us is this: What can we learn from this for our own church? As Roberto Bottrel writes: “God always multiplies what is fully surrendered to Him.”
